Our Story
Grommes Millwork is an architectural millwork firm based in Beloit, Wisconsin, founded in 1946 by Henry M. Grommes and his son, Bernard "Barney" Grommes, as a two-man shop known as “Grommes Kitchens” to provide high-quality cabinetry and countertops to meet the needs of local homeowners and builders during the post-World War II economic boom in the Stateline Area.
Over the past seven decades, Grommes Millwork has adapted to the ever-changing demands of the market and has thrived by expanding its offerings to institutional casework, liturgical furniture, and high-end residential and commercial millwork and fixtures, while still retaining the personability and accountability of a small, family-owned business.
After over twenty years of leadership under Barney's nephew, Tom Garstecki, longtime Grommes Millwork employees, Doug Clark and Andy Davis, purchased the company in 2014 to carry on the Grommes tradition of providing excellent products and unmatched service, meaningful employment, and community involvement in the Stateline Area. Grommes Millwork currently employs approximately twenty skilled craftsmen and support personnel.
